Great news! We’re excited to welcome new works by Michella Bredahl, Widline Cadet, Diane Severin Nguyen and Yumna Al-Arashi into the Huis Marseille collection. Want to experience it in person? Yumna Al-Arashi’s work is currently on view in the exhibition Body as Resistance.

The photographs range from formal studies evocative of the classroom to more unruly works of self-expression. Ambiguous stagings, found forms, and lyrical portraits are interspersed with gnomic quotes and unfinished credos scrawled on Post-its.

Between 2022 and 2024, Alec Soth visited twenty-five undergraduate art programmes across the United States. Advice for Young Artists comprises work he made there.

Alec Soth’s Advice for Young Artists Inspired by Walker Evans’s late Polaroids, this latest body of work reveals a new expansion of Soth’s practice and a new vantage. As much as a study of the experience of the young artist, this is a reckoning with the prospect of becoming an old one.

What began as an urban-historical survey became a remarkable visual record of a disappearing industrial landscape shortly before its transformation through redevelopment. After 1981, Ronkholz continued the project independently, focusing increasingly on interiors awaiting demolition or conversion.

Beginning in 1979, Tata Ronkholz and Thomas Struth systematically documented Düsseldorf’s harbor using large-format cameras, photographing façades, interiors, warehouses, technical infrastructures, and industrial details of an area that no longer exists in this form today.

Ger Dekkers is considered a pioneer of landscape photography in the Netherlands. Since the 1970s, he has captured the distinctly Dutch landscape, polders, dikes, and neatly planted rows of trees, reducing these human-shaped environments to almost abstract, geometric compositions.
