Fantastic reading by Natalie Diaz for the @bristolpoetry.bsky.social last night. It’s rare for my attention to be corralled and focused for five minutes, let alone over an hour, but these poems managed it. I made my way home in that holy space that is the aftermath of a great poetry experience.

So. One moment you're happy because the wood’s just given you another jay covert; then, moments later, on the other side of the river, you’re desolate because suddenly there’s too many. (I need to point out our dog, Cwtch, is a gentle and caring spirit. Poor jay was like this when we got here.)

My Labour MP @chazelgrovemp.bsky.social voted to cut benefits to disabled people. We might as well have her Tory predecessor back; at least we knew where we stood with him. I find myself wondering what she's in the job for. #taxtherich
