💔 This ~2000 beach volleyball photo in Kitsilano. Today was Kelly’s last day on 🌎. We were diagnosed with stage 4 cancer within a month—hers lung, mine breast. We’re the blondes (hers long). She’s my 3rd friend to die in a month. I’m shattered. 😭

Cancer didn’t stop me from voting. On March 21, 2019, I met my oncologist at Holy Cross Medical Centre and learned my prognosis and aggressive treatment plan. Through tears, I left and voted in the provincial election. Today, after cancer treatment, I voted nationally. Healthcare was top of mind.

I absolutely believe this is true. We already have great scientists, but as Canada continues to grow, and the pace of research accelerates, more scientists are needed to keep up.

💯! I’ve only known active cancer—stage 4 from day one. CTs every 3 months since Feb 2019, more when needed. They aren’t done for fun—they’ve kept me alive. CT scans save lives when used appropriately. Each case is unique—patients and doctors must weigh risks together. Fear-mongering does real harm.

Thought my aching joints were cancer being a drama queen again… turns out it’s just me aging like a fine wine. Scans are clear, bones are boring (thankfully), and I’m strutting into the weekend with extra sass and zero evidence of active disease. #Scanxiety #OncSky #MBC #MedSky #LivingWithStage4

Today is my 150th infusion: 20 chemo, 30 zoledronic acid, & 130 of my two immunotherapies. I told my nurse my veins were in good shape (no port!). She pulled out a tool—like a stud finder but for veins! It’s cool to see it work. To mark the occasion, I took a selfie. Love the purples and pinks!
