I’m listening to Stephen King’s memoir, On Writing… His advance for Carrie, in 1974, was $2,500. As far as I understand it, that’s essentially what Fantagraphics pays artists (in total) to publish a graphic novel. Plus 10 copies of the book (if you’re lucky). Just something to think about.

Is it just me or do all these kids that go to college for comics draw in exactly the same style? Maybe I’m an oldhead now… but damn. Don’t y’all wanna stand out? Or are you just looking for an animation job?
