Today is the final day of operation for Six Flags America. It opened in 1974 as a wildlife preserve, becoming an amusement park years later. As a farewell to the park, here's a little thread about its collection of roller coasters. 🧵

I got to visit Fright Fest at Six Flags Over Georgia last night; it was better than expected! The Conjuring Universe was definitely the star, but I enjoyed it all—except the part where I was swallowed alive in the clown house. 😳 Here's a thread about my thoughts. 🧵

One of the best parts of any fandom is how there's always something for everyone. We don't always agree because we have different preferences; that's why we have a variety of incredible attractions. But what's an attraction we can all agree is a 10/10, everyone loves it?

I always seem to be unlucky and have never seen Sonny in person. 😭 But I finally caught him performing! Most talented fella in the universe. Every theme park restaurant needs a Sonny Eclipse type fella.

Ocean Trader Market was NOT playing in Port of Entry, unfortunately. 😭

I'm really bad about posting when visiting the parks, but I finally made time to ride the FriendShips. Not once, but twice! That little part of me that's obsessive about Island Skipper Tours and the Discovery River Boats can finally rest.

Had a dream I explored the abandoned Alien Encounter (at Islands of Adventure for some reason) and was permanently banned from the park.

I've never been on a bad Schwarzkopf coaster. They deserve so much recognition. Had an amazing morning at the North Georgia State Fair for a few rare rides on Wildcat, a classic Schwarzkopf that operates less than two weeks every year. Perfectly smooth and runs phenomenally!

Runaway Railway replacing The Great Movie Ride doesn't change the fact that it's an elite dark ride. It never fails to put a massive smile on my face. Possibly top 10 for me.

Poseidon's once-towering statue collapsed, but at least this figure is still intact. The sign for the Treasures of Poseidon gift shop uses the character's original design, continuing inside with his merman tail.

More shells! The flowerbeds around this area use small shells in place of mulch. Here's a seashell-shaped pot as well. Slightly related, the flower beds around Sneetch Beach also have a seashell-based bedding.

The Poseidon's Fury temple was designed to look as if it could collapse at any moment. Why? According to legend, an earthquake fractured the temple, split the ground, and ruined the statue, which links back to actual history. Follow along for its environmental storytelling. 🧵

The water effects still flow and the lights still flicker outside the temple of the former Poseidon's Fury attraction, despite it closing permanently more than two years ago. The temple still seems alive and is as stunning as ever, though its days are numbered.
