After 12 years at the same school, I have been granted a year's leave. I have three family members who are gradually needing more support than I can manage teaching full time. The school sang 'You are my sunshine' with altered lyrics for me today ❤️🙂‍↕️🥹🌞

🪶🇳🇿 This morning I spotted a tiny bird on the grill of the drain leading to our street stormwater. I was walking my dog so quickly tied her up and grabbed some leaves, lifted the fledgling from the drain to the grassy verge. A pair of Tauhoe (waxeyes) quickly joined it, leaping and chirping.

Hmm, this is a tricky one. I genuinely love the colours in rainbow order - prisms, lights, and such. When forced to choose, I love the turquoise of a kingfisher, the red of a Anzac poppy, the purple of amethyst... 🩵❤️💜

Kevin had a lovely day, rolling on the warm concrete, visiting the library, snoozing in one of many snuggly beds tucked around school and finishing the day riding around the classrooms on top of our lovely cleaners trolley. I'll grab a photo asap and share 😻
