Today I started packing to move overseas, and I put over 600 books into 13 boxes (some were very big boxes) to stay here and not come with me. It was emotionally taxing and made me realize...this is real. I'm really moving.

For someone who only saw an ocean once, I sure wrote two books about it. Decided to tag along on my bestie's cruise vacation to do some REAL research. Had a blast in Nassau and Half Moon Cay. Swam in ocean! Tasted it. It was gross.

ACTUAL MAGIC work update: We are partway through chapter 3 as we start. Our goal is the end of chapter 4. Anything extra is gravy. Our only interruption? French class. See you end of day. #amwriting

End of Day Update: Rewrote my way through chapters 1, 2, and part of 3. I have 17.5 chapters left to go! Did things improve? I think so. Found some good moments for character development. It felt SO GOOD to write as much as I did today, for as long as I did today.

ACTUAL MAGIC Update: I am done with my first draft, and today I am starting to work on my second. I do a complete rewrite on the 2nd to keep my flow while I make changes. Let's see how far I can get with two meetings scheduled! #amwriting

JordanCon was amazing. I seriously love that show and the people I meet there. I love how much a good show energizes me, and motivates me. I finished writing my latest novel on the plane ride home! 🛩

Oh my gosh, it is so hard to put words down on paper sometimes. REALLY struggling with this last little bit of a novel, some panel shot lists for a comic, and finishing books I need to read before I go to JordanCon. And kudos to yesterday's participants, ya'll are awesome.

I will be at JordanCon in Atlanta this next weekend (25th-27th) and I will have copies of all my books. I will not make it that far south again until October, MAYBE. Stop in to get my books while you can!

Trans Awareness Week: Today I learned I can no longer attend a conference that I entered the contest for, because their state won't let me use the bathroom. Between that and the couple that talked loudly about how disgusting my existence is while I was at my favorite café today, I think I'm done.

Trans Awareness Week is coming up, and every day from the 24th to 31st, I am going to post a story about my experience. I am going to talk about what my life is actually like. Covering: therapy, high school, current administration, college, homelessness, conversion therapy, and more.

I am going to the funeral of my most accepting relative, flying out today - and I was given a lecture by my family on how to let everyone misgender me and deadname me because this isn't about me and I should be the bigger person. It's just for one day, they say - only it isn't. It's every day.

I don't like to leave my house right now. I am trans, gay, gender nonconforming, and I don't 'stealth' well. I guess part of my resistance is going to be being myself as loud as I always am. Going out tonight, and decided to take it up a notch. Because on Wednesdays (and Thursdays) we wear pink.

Didn't get into the Trans Cohort I applied for, but spots were tight! Still not going to stop being an advocate in my community for gender expansive identities. I'm too queer to look straight and I shouldn't be afraid to leave my house in a hairbow!

I am taking my victory laps where I can. My local @barnesandnoble.com held a signing, where I was the star! Did a reading, nailed it, and got my work out there. It was awesome.

I know we all go through that thing where we feel really unaccomplished and like nobody likes our work, and it's just twice as hard to go through that when people are also being very loud about how I shouldn't exist in the first place.
