Messed up that "Ancient History" or "Classics" will talk without end about wars against the Persians (no matter if greek or roman) but, broadly speaking, refuse to learn much about the persians themselves and in fact, direct one to near ANE studies instead. Not just the Persians either

Just to be clear the "How often do you think about the Roman Empire" trend was great and multiple friends have told me "well at least several times because of you". I can and will use it during teaching to illustrate how Classics are still relevant because obviously a Tik Tok trend is how to do it.
