🗣️ Medicare for All used to be the third rail of Democratic politics. Candidates were punished for mentioning taxes, private insurance, or the limits of the ACA. But a new poll shows broad support for single payer even under the conditions that once tanked the idea.

This is a growing crisis and a pending catastrophe. In my district, the Upper Peninsula has a significantly higher proportion of residents aged 65 and older - 23%, compared to the state and national average of 18%. Everyone has a right to a comfortable retirement and a life of dignity to the end.

While I'm happy for Ed, his story reflects a terrible reality & dystopian future in America: Seniors with no retirement savings & inadequate Social Security benefits forced to work themselves to the bone, their families increasingly unable to provide help or afford elder care. 🧵

I sincerely don't care who you voted for in the last election or the one before that. I don't care if you're a Democrat or Republican. I care that your life is comfortable, not defined by stress & precarity. Clawing for mere survival isn't normal & it shouldn't be an acceptable norm. Demand more.

Americans finally recognize the unique cruelty of our healthcare system and an overwhelming majority now support Medicare for All. I believe there should be a Medicare for All candidate on every Congressional ballot in 2026. I am running to make that a reality for my neighbors in Northern Michigan.

More and more working Americans are finding themselves unhoused. It's time we treat the housing crisis as any legitimate crisis: deploying the resources of the federal government to eradicate homelessness and unrigging the game for working-class homebuyers.

Amazon and Walmart are two of the biggest recipients of SNAP and Medicaid funds because they don't take care of their employees. Families working 40+ hours a week requiring gov subsistence. In Canada they go to food pantries to make ends meet. Corporations are the real "welfare queens" of society

This is a completely unnecessary throttling of emergency SNAP funding that will leave working parents and their children hungry for no reason but to preserve the cruelty of it all.
