So, the reason we're seeing all these stories suggesting Sinners isn't going to be profitable is because WB signed a deal that gives director Ryan Coogler all rights to the movie after 25 years. And other studios are terrified of "directors ultimately owning their films" becoming the norm.

There's a reason I'm saying this in such basic, straightforward language.
