FINALLY finding some time to get back to work on Project AB after the rush of getting ADG finished for the year. This is where I'm at now: Implementing logic! :D This took a LOT of thought to make it so simple a non-programmer could handle it, while also allowing for some deep complexities. :B

*spends two hours trying to get an old game working without having it constantly stuttering and ultimately gives up* Just because it's a 64-bit Windows game using D3D12/Vulkan doesn't mean it's gonna ALWAYS run right on Windows. >_<

Sometimes I look back on my life and wonder how I got to where I am doing video game adjacent stuff for a living when video games are only my third-most-favourite thing... ...then I remember how there's almost no profit to be had in my first and second most favourite things. :(

I see that Valve finally announced their next VR headset... I've looked through the specs and the Q&A and so long as they can deliver on the promise to keep the total package price under that of the Index (and not by a small amount) I think it's got a shot at taking command of the VR market. :o

Once upon a time, you wanted to avoid square roots like the plague in any computer software you wrote because they were SLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW. Even now, you are told time and again, "Don't use 'em unless you have to!" But that got me wondering... just HOW slow are they nowadays...? :o

Seems the trend now because more and more people are becoming aware of scams is for scam messages to start by saying, "You've been a victim of a scam, press 1 to recover your funds or press 5 if you don't want your funds back." I JUST had an automated system say that on my voicemail. :P

BTW: The next Boot Leg Gaming video is going to showcase something I never thought we'd see... ...an Action 52 game that's ACTUALLY PLAYABLE. 8O ...I mean... no, it still unfinished, buggy, repetitive, and boring, but requires no tricks to get from beginning to end, just gameplay. :B

I've been playing through Pokémon Scarlet again as a break from my usual work and in so doing, I recognized a fundamental difference between AAA and indie that has me convinced AAA is going to die a horrible death in the long run. Indie games are supported with updates/fixes for FAR LONGER. :P

One thing that's been a little disappointing is I really haven't had time to work on Project AB for the past couple weeks. A few little things here and there but nothing substantial. Once Episode 350 of ADG goes up I will have PLENTY of time to catch up on gamedev stuff! :B
