My PhD student Laura Baiocco received the RaAM research award this year, to conduct research on metaphor comprehension in patients with primary progressive aphasia! Many congrats!

New paper on emotional language and healthy aging! When reading words in sentences, older adults (OA) used emotional context to change positive words more, and younger adults (YA) used emotional context context to change negative words more. www.sciencedirect.com/science/arti...

My latest installment of brain state modeling in creativity is out @ Psychophysiology! We found generating novel metaphors is associated with widespread alpha-band synchronization early on in ideation and, paradoxically, alpha-desynch right before response. onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/full/10....
