Thanks to new research funding Dr. Tim Frasier & an int'l team of researchers will be able to modernize a DNA database that contains genetic profiles of about 700 right whales. Data has been collected since the 1980s, and is the key to identifying and understanding the endangered mammals.

Congratulations to SMU athlete Ian Gaudet, who won a gold medal in at the PanAm Games in Santiago, Chile! Ian and teammate Simon McTavish finished the 500m K2 race with a time of 1:30.45, ahead of competitors from Argentina and the U.S.. Ian is in his 3rd year of a BSc in Geology.
