Workers are facing rising costs, insecure work, and increasing pressure and at this year’s CWU Biennial Conference delegates made it clear that workers need stronger protections, fair pay, and real collective bargaining rights. ✊

720 workers. Families, rents, bills, and livelihoods on the line. Tomorrow, our members at Covalen will take strike action at Nova Atria in Sandyford from 1pm–5pm in response to the proposed 720 redundancies and their employers' refusal to offer anything other than statutory redundancy pay.

Elected representatives and supporters gathered at Leinster House yesterday to stand in solidarity with Covalen workers protesting their lack of support when facing 720 proposed redundancies. These workers want their union at the table to negotiate.

Our Digital and Techworker Alliance (DATA) Branch AGM showcased the strength of member-led democracy. It was inspiring to have so many members attend and contribute. ✊

From AI and platform accountability to job security and rights in a fast-changing industry, the sectoral expert panel discussed a wide range of topics and brought expert knowledge to the forum. The takeaway? Tech is changing fast, but workers must be in the room shaping that change.

The Workers’ Panel was one of the most powerful moments of the forum. Digital and Techworker Alliance (DATA) members reflected on a full year of tech organising — from major wins to collective breakthroughs across multiple workplaces.

Mental health shouldn’t be the price of a job. A worker‑led 2026 survey of 95 TikTok Dublin staff reveals a crisis: overwhelming stress, burnout, fear, and little real support. Workers report a culture shaped by layoffs, micromanagement, understaffing, and an unsafe return‑to‑office policy.
