Yesterday marked the anniversary of the Antiquities Act of 1906, the law that gave presidents the authority to protect cultural and natural heritage by designating national monuments. It’s a powerful reminder of the ongoing responsibility to care for the lands we hold sacred.

For National Trails Day, we’re highlighting one of the core Visit With Respect guidelines: Stay on Established Trails. In Bears Ears and beyond, straying off trail can damage fragile plants, compact soil, and disrupt the flow of water, impacting the land for generations to come.
