Anya deciding to go off with Zack's raiders wasn't met to be permanent but I like to think his mind just became that much more screwed up when he was ghoulified and that's what turned him into a tyrant He was already possessive over Anya but the radiation turned it into dangerous territory

I definitely see the reason Anya left pre ghoul Hancock was because she rightfully felt neglected (And he was definitely hooking up and cheating on the down low) She had a hot temper and was far from perfect but she knew he wasn't about to change unless she left + Canon events later happened
