Whenever the world feels wrong I work in the garden or paint. Feels like the right way to pray. Just adding some buildings to our existing mural.

I don’t like a lot of the things “Karen’s” do. But somehow my algorithm shows me them constantly. I’ve come to realize ive enjoyed watching people do bad things with subsequent punishment. I’m out. From now on I’m x-ing out those posts and not watching.

Today @citylifesd baptized 14 people. I wish I could tell you the stories and how far God has brought them. In 10 years we never baptized more than 10 in a whole year and some years we only baptized one or two. We’ve not done much differently. But God is clearly up to something.

A friend got out of prison recently and I took him some non alcoholic beers as a welcome home gift. He told me about wanting to get his life back on track so we decided to have a bible study together. He said he knew so few Christians…

Today I get to marry this sweet couple! Excited for Peter and Brooke! And I love the way they are honoring his parents with Filipino tradition.

When I first moved to Mt Hope, Leonard was one of the first people to welcome me. Not a week went by that he didn’t ask me about my church, surfing and the First Lady. He always prayed for me and had me pray for him. “pastor, give us a prayer.”

What a wonderful weekend. We saw friends, family and had a great time with two services as a church. It was our largest Sunday attendance in 10 years of our little church. God is doing great things and we get to be a part of it.

HE GOT UP!

Lessons I have to learn again and again: #1- I’m not a carpenter. I tried to kick a countertop into place and broke it in half. #2- Even if you unplug a saw, its still hot. #3- There are gifted people in our Church that are a willing to bless us with their skills.

Our Mt Hope City Group was able to help one of our beloved widow in the church with her lawn and we also got started on painting the house for our Haitian refugees. I love these people.

We were stocking the church food pantry when the Earthquake came. Our phone warned us and we got out. Kinda the worst place to be!

Fun, foggy day of surf with friends and I got a new mug that makes me feel seen.

New Padres art in North Park!!!

We had a wonderful Easter Egg Hunt for @citylifesd in Mt Hope, San Diego. We held TWO egg hunts, painted faces, led crafts and fed lots of people. Thanks to help from FBC Russellville and the California Baptist foundation. We estimate over 600+ came out for this free event and most walked to it.

I am grateful for the many Haitian immigrants that make America great.

I know I'm baptist, but Ash Wednesday is one of my favorite services. We can feel safe to lament, celebrate and cry. We can recognize life as temporary and respond accordingly. Lord, Let me number my days.
