To answer your question, @stabert.bsky.social: tonic is definitely a thing. In my experience, it's HYPER local. Like, really only people from Boston itself. Doesn't extend to the rest of New England. My mom (occasionally) and aunts (consistently), who grew up in Mission Hill, all call it tonic.

Sounding like some major swatting going on at UMass Boston: Several calls/reports of gunfire, students cowering in a Science Center classroom, gunshots at the campus Dunks, BC High. So far no victims, no evidence of gunfire. BC High was put in lockdown, but again, no gunfire or anything there.

Which work? Calling for gay people to be stoned to death? Blaming airplane crashes on black pilots? Anti-vax bullshit? Election denialism? Pushing Great Replacement Theory? Kirk’s murder is awful and ominous for this country. But no, we don’t need to honor him or “continue his work.”
