Activism is not the same thing as community. And if your community is built around activism rather than your activism being built around your community, you need to shift your priorities.

Something I forget is that the current fascists actually believe their bullshit. They actually believe that DEI programs are why minorities have made so much progress in this country.

I’ve been thinking a lot about fascism and our global world. One thing I keep coming back to is that shit like this doesn’t happen if our world is swinging towards fascism. There’s still an international swing towards freedom and virtue and fairness and the recognition of harm.

People I support because I am led by compassion first: Vets. I was a military brat. I will always support vets. Disabled people. A police officer paralyzed in the line of duty is still disabled. I support disabled people. My people. Trans people.

Capitalism is a cult. It's possibly the most dangerous cult. Because it has built-in legal protections that touch every part of society.

The death of empathy. I wish more people realized. World War 3 isn’t a war primarily among borders of nation-states. It’s a digital war. A war between democracy and authoritarianism.

I want to talk about “All Cops Are Bastards” Because this should be obvious but not all police officers are cops. Some doctors are cops. Some therapists are cops. Some pastors are cops.

I want to add an addendum to this. If a totalitarian government is one where the nation-wide primary cult controls all other cults. That means it controls the cult of the opposition. Mahmoud Khalil’s arrest by ICE is a direct challenge to Democrats. Does MAGA control them or not?

A totalitarian/authoritarian regime is a just another cult. But there is no cult that can take over an entire country. In order take over an entire country, the cult has to bend the rest of the country to its will.
