Kirk's work WAS violent. It doubled down on stigmas, racism, sexism, and phobias. These are known tactics that extremists thrive on to follow through with shootings, and lynchings. His work was rooted in white supremacy, he talks a LOT about people of color, and relating them to gang violence.

This is how you normalize violence. Instead of understanding how to stop school shootings, you romanticize 'heroes' protecting children with guns. 'Heroes' like all the bad apples in law enforcement. The same law enforcement who protects authoritarianism.

It is not cute to constantly feed your brain with junk food fear tactics thinking you're 'fitting in'. If fitting in means throwing 'strange people' into prisons- you need to go back and re educate yourself on who has been at the forefront of mass incarceration/slavery.

Authoritarianism is rooted in fear that is taught through being uneducated. This is why we see libraries, and the mass education system being attacked and gutted any time the far right moves in and begins to take hold of power structures, and pilling the masses by using fear tactics.

Giving any authortative figure the 'hot bad boy' fantasy arc is genuinely a bad idea. You are playing with the idea that authoritative figures are somehow redeemable by thier good looks... Example: Hisoka, Kefka, Sephiroth, Levi, Patrick Bateman, Tyler Durden, Anakin Skywalker. Not good.

Watching all of the Devo interviews gots me reminicing about how much I love my creative spouse, and that I miss them. I hope thier return from the Dusty Man is safe. Also to those of you in relationships- do not dim your love with control- if your partner is an artist, encourage them to make art.
