The music that's been submitted for the Weapon and The Shield compilation is so cool. But not as cool as the 60 year age gap between the youngest and oldest submitter. Now THAT'S amazing.

All of the submissions for The Weapon and The Shield have their merits... Several surprised me. One made me question my own biasses. It's essentially a positive rant poem set to a lovely piano progression. I decided it would close the whole compilation, almost immediately. Music is amazing.

I've added 40 artists to two volumes of a compilation that is going to turn heads... I think it time you got on board and rejected the binary divisions stupid people push every day. If all you do is gripe, and paint human beings as enemies... you're in for a rough ride.

A lot of truth in this. Most of the misogyny, racism and bigotry I’ve personally experienced tend to stem from group 1. People can claim to be whatever they want but behavior, words, actions and how you treat others always say the truth.

I guess when it comes down to it... Do I care what people living in an imaginary world think? No. I care what people who want to to live in my imaginary world think. As long as we both understand that behind it all is a person. And another person.

In my journeys across social media there have been two main types of people. 1. People that think they are social justice warriors, symbols of resistance, truth givers and very ill, self isolated people. 2. people trying to make friends and seek understanding. And the 1s seek to destroy the 2s.

The Weapon and The Shield. Music is the weapon. We are the shield. Every time we refuse to give in to hate. We Shield. Every time we write a lyric that feels back the propaganda, we strike a heroic blow. Connections between real people and not selfie avatars is the single most important thing.

If you keep on doing the same thing... nothing will change. We make our own... well I would say luck... but that gives a disservice to the effort so many of the people I respect put in. Every. Single. Day.
