3D version of this movie would go diabolical.

The amount of geometric depth is what throws it off. Mountains have barely any depth on planets when shown at this scale. Craters on much smaller moons barely look deep. The pepperonis being super fat here just doesn't compute and makes it look small Infinite does an updated ring much better IMO.

Playing Tomb Raider 2013 again. My first modern (at the time) M rated game as a kid and an utterly traumatizing one (the spike death iykyk) Playing it again, it's kind of taking an Indiana Jones face melting pleasure in horrifying the viewer occasionally, but it's not nearly as rough as I remember.

you can like rewrite quake's bespoke movement and acceleration system in a couple dozen lines of code but trying to replicate it's collision system is an absolute nightmare

Think this one is going to be looked back on as very prescient to now, in a good way. In the age of the Epstein files being denied and AI and disinformation, the concept of information so earth shattering and overwhelming that everyone agrees it's important and real is a deeply cathartic fantasy.

I thought it was very good. Haters are psycho. Yeah it suffers from the same issues the rest of the show does, dialogue is a bit too perfect, pacing is a bit weird, but it's still one of my favorite art styles in any 3D animation put to use in some utterly beautiful and raw sequences.
