Proses evakuasi berlangsung dengan pengamanan terukur untuk mencegah cedera pada satwa maupun petugas. Anakan tersebut kemudian dibawa ke Pusat Penyelamatan Satwa Long Sam guna menjalani observasi medis dan perawatan lanjutan.

Tim menemukan seekor anakan orangutan jantan berusia sekitar 15 bulan dalam keadaan tertidur di tajuk pohon mangga. Pemeriksaan awal menunjukkan respons agresif yang dinilai sebagai bentuk pertahanan diri.

Balai Konservasi Sumber Daya Alam Kalimantan Timur menerima laporan dari Petugas Pemadam Kebakaran Kutai Timur mengenai keberadaan orangutan di Desa Rawa Indah, Kecamatan Bengalon, pada Kamis, 12 Februari 2026.
