An unwelcome surprise! Family Search have removed access to inquests from 1925 onwards in 'New Zealand Coroner's inquest reports, 1888-1938' so they are no longer available to view at home. The restriction is 50 years from date of death, so why? Need to visit to Archives in Wgtn now. #genealogy

I've been working on my one-voyage study all week. Enrolled in SAG course for setting up website. I've done 3 research articles, 2 profiles and loaded 3 documents. It's still private for now but pleased with my progress #GenHour

Tracy Farr’s alternative history, Wonderland, is a fabulous read. The setting is real – Wonderland was an amusement park in Miramar that ran from 1907 to 1912 but the main characters and events are fictional.

Do you ever wonder why you can't find a marriage on the NZ DIA website? This one has been completely scrambled. According to the Intentions to Marry they are John A SIMS (groom) and Hannah Matilda BERRY (bride)

I'm off to ArchivesNZ to look at Intentions to Marry for Woodlark passengers. Good for pre 1880 NZ marriages as gives specific age and length of residence, parent if minor (and don't cost $25 like a marriage reg). 1865-1869, 1872, 1874 & 1880 have been digitised at www.archives.govt.nz. #GenHour

Arrived at our Hutt Valley NZSG Xmas meeting last night to find the venue had been double booked - a mad scramble to find an alternative and let everyone know. Just finished reading this book. Ferdinand Mount's aunt has a shadowy past with more twists and turns than you can imagine. A fascinating and well-told #genealogy research story, that includes his missteps. Highly recommended.
