Summer like #NLwx returns Tuesday & Wednesday! Highs across the island will be in the upper teens & low 20s, with inland areas pushing the mid 20s. Wednesday will be similar, with upper teens & low 20s. Warm air will exit on Thursday with the passage of some showers.

Hurricane #Erin is set to pass to the southeast of Newfoundland Friday night into Saturday. Impacts on #NLwx will be minimal. Some pounding waves & high surf along south & east coastal regions. Gusty winds for the Avalon Saturday with ~60-80 km/h. The strongest will be south.

1:17pm radar: Steady to heavy rain is in the process of moving onto the Avalon from the northeast. This will assist in fire suppression efforts over Conception Bay North, as well as the Paddy's Pond wildfire. This rainfall will continue for much of the afternoon. #NLwx

Hurricane #Erin is now a category 5 hurricane in the Atlantic basin. While it is about a week away from Canadian waters, guidance is generally indicating a pass to the southeast of Newfoundland. However, it is too early to say what, if any impact it will have on #NLwx.
