Advent Calendar - Day 5! Today we have just one of the five gold rings that you'd expect - But it is a stunner! This beautiful serpent-headed ring was found in Oxford, near the site of Osney Abbey, one of the wealthiest religious institutions of the medieval era.

the alignment change on the Old Kent Road where the modern road moves away from the Roman alignment. Rocque’s 10 miles around London (1746) is the first map to show the area. The turnpike trust started in 1718, so is this realignment their work?
