The point at which I realised social media was a great and boundless evil was, on The Other Place years ago, celebrating the presence of tea in my life. Only to then be aggressively sub-tweeted by a peer of some repute about how people who drink tea rather than coffee are pathetic.

Making videogames - even 'just' on a narrative level - is about building a house whilst the house is on fire.

Weapons is a beautifully and disturbingly shot film, which worms its way carefully into the brain's fear centres, but ultimately lands in places I found both hokey and tone-deaf. Have to hope the creators were simply having too much fun to reckon with the eyebrow-raising tropes they opted for.

My father's house in Cumbria is worth about the same as my claustrophobic terrace house in Brighton. This is his view. Mine is a wall.

Watched and was suitably discomfited by Bring Her Back, a horror film that's fantastic when it's psychological, but maybe too grindhouse when it's physical and (maybe) supernatural. Anchored by a magnetically disturbing lead performance and great cinematography. youtu.be/1I15ttCedfY?...
