I'm going to give a hot take for a minute and sort of defend INEOS, because I think there's another perspective here. In executive leadership, the concept of "fail fast" is very important. Almost everything, and everyone, fails at some point. The idea is to learn from your mistakes quickly. /1

Also, goals against us look SO EASY. st the other end, teams give us no quarter and you really have to be brilliant to score. But to score against us looks ridiculously easy. You can see the goal coming 3-4 seconds before it goes in. Crazy.

Something that’s plagued us for years Al that I cannot explain is the quality of our fundamentals. A lot of passes behind feet, or that come in at the knees. A lot of heavy touches and tiring into trouble. Weak tackles that go right back to the opposition. Just really poor basics.

One of the problems of an absolutely massive fan base is that there is a critical mass of fans for every opinion. The Manchester United fanbase is not a monoculture. Remember that when reading dissenting viewpoints.

One hot take: INEOS got it wrong with appointing Amorim, but I don't think they were "wrong" to appoint Amorim. It was a risk. Bringing a back 3 to Utd was a big risk. But Amorim was ascendant at the time. And he was good with the media. It was a somewhat daring appointment. /1

This team gives up a lot of goals in the last minutes of a half. When I used to play (recreationally) and that happened, it was usually because our players just wanted the game over and done with; they didn't want to be out there. I kind of feel like a lot of our players don't want to be out there

I've got to say, I think the Dorgu signing is a *really* bad reflection of INEOS/Wilcox and our "new" scouting department. He clearly can't handle the shirt, or the league, or something, and INEOS missed that. He's not good. He's not improved at all. If this was data driven, our data SUCKS.

Does it even matter who is to blame anymore? INEOS aren't going to do anything about it. This can't be our level. Be it the players or the coach. This is just not good enough to do anything but sit midtable for a decade.
