This new camera system is enlightening. I just opened my phone to like 30+ motion notifications because Emmy has been going on and off the wheel for over an hour straight (she doesn't use the wheel when I'm present).

If I win the lottery, I'm not telling anyone, but there will be signs. Like snapping up this $87 book on mustelid nose parasites because I need to know. Is this found in my area? What is the life cycle? How do I prevent it in the mink? Why is this the first I'm hearing about it?!

Nov 26, and no snow yet this year in northern WY other than a few dusty grains two days ago. The mink water only just started freezing over at night, the last few days.

Before her heart transplant on Thursday, my aunt's ejection fraction was dipping below 15 Today it measured at 65!

My aunt just had a heart transplant in the middle of the night We/Thurs. The donor heart was life flighted. Today, they closed the incision and began to wake her up. Her eyes are currently open and she's responsive. Modern medicine is mind boggling and organ donation is a precious gift 😭❤️‍🔥

Emmy is THE Rebel Mink, and her story is probably (definitely) not going to fit within the character limit, so check the replies as well. Emmy is mischief incarnate, and of course is another Utah fur farm industry survivor. All our mink are self-escapees: they broke out of jail on their own.

Lysander is another Utah farm survivor, found as a sub-adult in a residential back yard. Missing his left ear and inflicted with nystagmus, he likely suffered some type of head trauma on the farm or after he escaped. Now, he is a very spoiled but polite gentleman who likes plush bunnies.

Smaug was found as an orphaned kit, to a mum who had escaped a Utah fur farm but was unable to survive in the wild feeding her young. Smaug was sadly found next to her body, crying, the only survivor. Now he is a spoiled teddy bear with sharp fangs and claws.

Originally founded in 2020, MMR is FINALLY incorporated as a state nonprofit. Filing for federal status this month.

Wolfie is such a huge fat FLOOF right now! Wolfie and Ranger were surrendered in 2024. They were purchased from Petco, but the buyer's husky wanted to eat them. Rather than returning them, they contacted MMR and surrendered them 💗

Emmy enjoys quail eggs, but she's also obsessed with quail egg CARTONS, so I'm not sure what her motivation is here. Hunger for a yummy treat, or obsession with her precious cartons? Probably both.
