NEW: Organ tuners have been leaving temperature and humidity records in little-known books for decades. 🎹 They reveal how temperatures inside churches have changed over time due to climate change and increased heating. A new scoop for The Reengineer!

Later in the day, Mrs Churchill would be loaned a greatcoat by a Polish officer since her own thin affair was by no means adequate for Cupar's weather.

An unknown woman leaves flowers at the grave of F/Lt Stefan Kryński at Newark. The IWGC committed to honour the Allied war dead as it did those of Britain and the Commonwealth, and designed the wooden crosses in consultation with the Polish Services.

A scavenge, if I may... A beautiful wartime Polish book has come onto the market, with an inscription by the author. These moments of Anglo-Polish cooperation are so precious - and academically fascinating. If you could spare a few pennies...

A report from the first quarter of the 19th century observed the westward migration of Polish families into German villages: 'The substitution of the sign 'Sklep' for 'Laden' on the shops became a token of a farther advance of Polish civilisation.' All hail the Polski Sklep.

John Bolton said re Ukraine/Trump, “a land swap is also a people swap, you are condemning people to live under an authoritarian regime.” It’s so important people understand this. Land is where people live. Ukrainians living under occupation suffer violence & oppression & war crimes. They matter.
