Played about two hours of Diablo 1 forgetting it’s a game with permadeath where you need to manually save and lemme just say I no longer have a character.

Can’t wait for someone to come in and snipe the auction at the last millisecond with a $125.01 bid.

Played a couple days of inKONBINI - not sure if any other game has really nailed the tedium of stocking and facing shelves as well as it does (complementary)

There are such a ridiculous amount of indie games I have interest in that dropped this past week and it’s far more than I could ever devote my time to. On that note, will be streaming my first impressions with Heroes of Might and Magic: Olden Era tonight. Wish things were spread out a little!

Played both the Genesis and Super Nintendo Aladdin tonight and I still have the unpopular opinion that the Genesis one is slightly better than the SNES offering.

I faced one of my fears/anxieties yesterday and it went a hundred times worse than I could even have imagined. Honestly impressive.

Playing through retro games I couldn't beat as a kid makes me realize how much it was never the difficulty of the games but the lack of patience. Many of the old school games that people generally consider super difficult only take like 8-10 hours to learn.

The fun thing about game jams is if you aren’t very skilled everything takes at least twice as long so by the time the end hits it’s just exhaustion city. Already feeling so tired and halfway there.

I’m ill-prepared this time around but running it back for my fourth Ludum Dare this weekend. Gonna create something terrible if anyone potentially wants a game to play next week.

Been playing a lot of Diablo 2 Resurrected lately and it’s making me consider picking up the Diablo 4 expansion later this month. As someone who hasn’t played since launch and has not played the previous DLC, is it worth jumping back in to? I was kind of lukewarm on it my first playthrough.

Wanna finish at least one game project this year and trying to decide if I want to do another jam next month or put all my time and effort into something with a slightly larger scale. Haven't really done a non-jam effort since 2022.

I went back and played some Supermarket Sim and TCG Card Shop Sim from fresh save files and it really taught me that a lot of these sim games try to do so much in early access that they really end up wrecking the early game tutorials and late game curves for the grind. Neither holds up for me.

A decade ago I gave up on the Bloodborne The Old Hunters DLC cause it was too hard for me and today I finally completed it all without leveling a single time. This is probably the hardest Souls low level challenge I've done so far. Just two final bosses left to complete and I'll be fully done.

Well after having it running on my second monitor pretty much all weekend I just finished Horripilant. Unbelivably cool and fresh incremental game meets point and click horror. A little grindy, but so many fresh ideas to the genre. Thoroughly enjoyed it.

Thinkin about the time I tried to make a fake OS for one of my first game projects - I was far over my head but there is something about it that gives early Flash vibes. It has to be one of the worst coded things I've ever done. But it's still nice to look back and figure out the growth since.

Excited to play a bunch of Next Fest demos for streams this week. New policy this year is I'm vetoing any game with an AI disclosure. Just too many interesting releases to be focused on those. Do wish I didn't have to scroll to the bottom of the Steam description each time to see which have one.

Finally went out and got some shelving so the majority of my games aren’t just sitting in boxes for me to dig through every time I’m looking for something. Still have a second overflow shelf but we’ll work on that later.

These games are so great if you haven't played the first it's also on Steam for free but Strange Jigsaws is also worth the price of admission!

I worked hard for this mastery - classic DDR timing is way more brutal than I remember and it really made me realize how much speed settings (which weren’t implemented until the PS2 releases) changed the game.

Been replaying Dance Dance Revolution Konamix which was the first DDR game I owned back in the day and just playing it even with a regular controller I can smell the plastic dance mat. Kind of wild.

Been working through the GBA Castlevania trilogy for the first time since they were new-ish. Getting near the end of Circle of the Moon and it was a lot harder than I remember. The drop rates seem a bit insane yet it’s still a banger.

Yes, I’ve beaten many Souls games at level one. No, I probably will never reach the nuclear throne.

Heroes of Might and Magic III is still so much fun - I cannot wait for Olden Era!
