It’s #indieanimationday! We are Pelea Animation, an #indiestudio creating our debut film of the same name, “Pelea.” The story takes place in Vivencia, a fictional South American country based on 1960’s & 70’s 🇨🇴🇻🇪🇪🇨. The film talks about real issues of imperialism with #steampunk elements.

First up, these two backgrounds I painted for @peleaanimation.bsky.social. I had the job of painting a lush Colombian jungle scene and the destruction of that same jungle for oil drilling. I was out of my comfort zone for the latter because of the heavy machinery and the oil drills-

This is artwork I made for Humanconet’s campaign for the displaced Emberá people seeking refuge in Bogotá. Just 2 km from the Colombian Presidential Palace, over 1,800 Emberá people, displaced by armed conflict, are living in dangerously overcrowded conditions meant for only 450 inhabitants.⁣⁣
