We are beginning to make links between addition and subtraction using fact families.

We worked with P6 last week to create a rocket. We listened carefully and followed instructions.

We’ve continued to explore place value this week in numeracy.

We have started learning our nativity songs. A copy of these have been sent home. Please encourage your child to learn them. 🎶

Today we welcomed Helen who is a beekeeper into our class. It was great hearing about all she does with the bees. We even got to spin honey and we were ‘buzzing’ to taste it. 🐝

We made the most of the beautiful afternoon by working together on an autumn hunt. We found woodlice, spider webs, a squirrel, berries and lots of colourful leaves.

Today we learned how to add using a number line. We all concentrated and persevered even when we found it tricky 👏

This superstar showed how responsible and caring she is, at the weekend, when she saved a little hedgehog that was injured in her garden. Well done, very proud of you!

Today’s number rotation. Today was the first day we have used our numeracy jotters - some of us found the layout tricky as our numbers have to be small enough to fit in the boxes!

We loved sharing our stories this morning and exploring kind characters.

While outside we noticed colourful autumnal leaves and created some beautiful pictures with them.

We planted our bulbs this morning with ‘Granny’. The bees are in for a treat in spring ☺️🐝

Yesterday we predicted what we think might happen in the book ‘Supertato: Books are Rubbish!’ Today we are reading the story together to check if our predictions were right.

Yesterday we extended our learning with our counting collections. We used bigger numbers and thought of lots of different ways to represent the number.

We went on a tree hunt this morning and tried to identify the trees in our playground by their leaves 🍃

We are on our mission to Bee a Superhero so today we prepared our planters for planting bulbs. Thank you to ‘Granny’ for helping 😊

We are Wallacestone change makers - we are learning how to Bee a superhero! We created posters with information about how to save bees. Ask your child how a bee makes its buzzing noise.

Our first volunteer morning of the year will be on Saturday 13th September between 9:30am and 11:30am. An email will go home today with more information.
