THIS is the attitude we need to have. Why do we treat people as subhuman because they don't have a house? Is it because it's easier to act that way than to reconcile that we're allowing fellow human beings to starve on the streets? All because we don't want to build homes for them to live in?

My hot take is that Lid I5 in the U District is as dumb of an idea as the Montlake lid. Billions of dollars on a lid no one will use because it's still surrounded by highway and we only build with concrete nowadays. That money should go to lid I-5 in downtown, not elsewhere (yet!)

How about instead of a committee.. we put them into USE on a streetcar line? How about one that already has construction-ready plans? What if it connected up some of our highest tourism spots directly along a beautiful road that's sorely lacking transit? They could call it the Cultural Connector..

buses are great, their flexibility is great. and you can build a high frequency bus that runs like a train. but unlike a train, a bus can just be rerouted and moved and sabotaged so much easier by a hostile administration We finally built a great bus line that acts like a train.. then this.

Historic preservation requirements can be bad, sometimes they can be used to stop a much needed projects. Other times, they are an incredible and necessary element to preserve beauty in a harsh society. And other times, the king of a country can do whatever he wants & ignore them. This is so sad.

Why do places ask for preferred name on the online form and then proceed not to use it? If you're not going to pay attention to that field, don't have it at all. Plus, isn't that liability? "Deliberately" calling someone the wrong name? Can't claim unawareness if it was on the form?

There are so many phenomenal things in this article. Notably, - Build dense and tall around train stations. Not 6 stories, but 20; also maintains greenery. - High frequency is the way. Seattle saw this with the G. - A CEO who actually knows his stuff, across all transit modes. Knows how riders feel.

The best part about this is how ugly it's going to be. This isn't going to be a grand, gorgeous central station. This is all circulation to get down in height. This will just be a giant gray block of concrete like all of our public projects in Seattle are.

One thing I hope is answered directly at future MC Lives (maybe @jebox.bsky.social / others can confirm here?) is if there will be world-gen changes with a new drop. None were announced, so I feel secure starting a new world & updating later. But maybe worldgen or chest loot changes are coming.

And vice versa is not the case, because the legal experts have not been consulted, yes?

I think Silksong's dev cycle is fairly clear in the game balance. Early game is much harder, because it was initially developed as a Hollow Knight 'Challenge Mode' DLC. Around mid-game is when they began to develop it independently, so the philosophy shows up more as its own individualized game.

Council passing this bill isn't just something isolated to a small vocal group. This is an INCREDIBLY unpopular policy across the *entire city*, yet council still passed it. Is this what democracy looks like? Lobbyists and the powerful electeds get their way in the face of the people they serve?

This is the tale of the whole administration in Seattle right now. Say one thing and do the other. See: hours of comment against surveillance, bill passes anyway.

People are incredibly dissatisfied with city council. It's not just those of us who are politically active -- it's much of the city. Nobody is happy w/ council's performance, but councilmembers show no sign of changing their tune. Not even like Harrell, who's at least attempting to grasp for straws.
