A3: Opportunities. For students to see learning as more than something to fill their brains. To allow students time to wrestle with ideas in a way that is not measured. #EduSkyAU

A2. Deep learning without play is like trying to breathe with half a lung. You might survive, but you won’t thrive. Play is the rehearsal room of creativity—it’s how we prototype understanding. Strip it away, and we flatten curiosity into compliance. #EduSkyAU

A1b: I play all the time. In the kitchen. Play with technology. Play with ideas. And I am learning to play the trumpet. Waiting for my next break as a jazz musician! #EduSkyAU

A5. Probably not enough of a voice in overall design. They didn’t like the stools we originally put into Food Tech. Got better seats based on that feedback! #EduSkyAU

A5. Students shape the space with me. Whether it’s rearranging tables or choosing what goes on the walls, their voice is central. Design becomes a mirror of the community we’re building—relational, respectful, and regenerative. #EduSkyAU

The hardest thing in the Design & Tech space is getting the initial setup prepared for safety, flow and storage. #EduSkyAU

A4 b: Our biggest issue is classroom space. So many classes that are general purpose are not good for us. And any furniture movement is okay, but don’t dare leave it moved. Or face the email wrath. #EduSkyAU

a3: for starters, it needs to be a kitchen! We actually need to balance our ideas with shire regulations and it can be tricky to find the right mix. #EduSkyAU

Another sublime point ...bias is in everything #EduSkyAU so we need to teach to it, around it and into it... society

A4: it has to change the way we assess. It hasn’t yet, though we have made changes. But that recall for tests is not enough (never was). So applying your knowledge and understanding matters more than remembering. #EduSkyAU

Not sure why the #EduSkyAU didn’t work?!

A3: Start with curiosity, not complexity. Use real-world examples relevant to students’ lives and scaffold skills over time. Co-create with students, embed culture, and ensure tools reflect diverse identities. Make AI literacy inclusive by design. #EduSkyAU

A3: Knowing the learners and their needs. Helping them to formulate good prompts. And teaching students to think critically about what AI spits out. Maybe mostly the think critically…#EduSkyAU

A2: Rural and remote communities it’s a great opportunity to access learning. And for teachers. Access to resources and the ability to even summarize articles/rewrite for new learners of English. List is endless. But we do need to be aware of the bias. #EduSkyAU

A1: I use it a fair bit. So many uses. Issues are access at school and home. More than that, you still need to know your stuff if you want it to work for you. And it can’t be your final work. It’s a starting point. #EduSkyAU

A5: We have to be willing to model it. And we have to be able to identify the learning when things go awry. Welcome others into your classroom. Spend time in other people’s classrooms. Learn together and from one another. #EduSkyAU

A4b: For us. Real life human audiences. We train baristas (teachers love it). We cook for staff (who wouldn’t love that?!) but everything is about someone else be they a client, target audience. What do they need? How have I been successful? #EduSkyAU

A4 I once heard this quote. "If students are throwing their work in the bin, have they really engaged authentically?" This quote resonates deeply with my approach. My Problem Finders project empowered students to identify and solve real problems, ensuring genuine investment. #EduSkyAU

A4: Some seriously good Qs. That idea of creating v consuming is tougher now. My secret weapon is food. Plenty of things you can create and then consume. Some like to consume before they create. Wouldn’t recommend raw chicken…regardless of the TikTok influencers. #EduSkyAU

Yes to this. Empathy. 100%. #EduSkyAU

A3 Backward mapping curriculum to the SDGs is surprisingly straightforward. The crucial step is fostering student empathy for the issues they represent. I leverage provocations and inquiry to make this connection real. #EduSkyAU

A3: For me it’s always about bringing it back to local solutions to global problems. If people don’t ‘feel’ the need to change, it won’t happen. If the SDGs can make a difference to me/us here, they can have that same impact anywhere. So we look wide and big then bring it home. #EduSkyAU

A2: Innovation is the output. Creativity in action. In our classroom we see it when students take something they have learnt and apply those skills in ways that make me realise they get it. I see the thinking and the challenge to not simply replicate something but push themselves. #EduSkyAU

A1: Great Q. I’d like to think it’s as important, particularly in this AI driven environment. How do we get it there? It has to be when we see that learning is more than just remembering or knowing something and is more about how it’s applied. #EduSkyAU

A4: My best guess is they will have a strong focus on mental health and wellbeing. Everybody will have an AI assistant and (hopefully) much of the administrative type work will be out of a classroom teacher’s hands. #EduSkyAU
