🔬 An intimate glimpse of Colletotrichum graminicola weaving its path during maize leaf infection. 🌿 Biotrophic hyphae elegantly advance between host cells, tracing silent paths beneath the surface. 🧬 A quiet conquest, cell by cell.

Yesterday, I had the pleasure of leading a practical session of the Genetic Engineering and Genomics course for undergraduate biology students at
#USAL
. We explored how to analyze and interpret DNA sequences and use basic bioinformatics tools, under the supervision of Prof. Serenella Sukno. 🧬

This week at
#17ECFG
, our team shared findings on the C. graminicola effector CgEP4, which translocates to the nucleus and nucleolus and plays a key role in maize anthracnose. We captured beautiful microscopic images of its localization,a great achievement given the challenges of working with maize.

This week at
#17ECFG
we presented our findings on CgEP3, a chloroplastic effector from Colletotrichum graminicola that suppresses early immune responses in maize. Many thanks to Pablo García-Rodríguez for presenting the poster and to all team members for their excellent work.
