Earlier this year I saw a judge issue a bench warrant for someone in the hospital because they had a LITERAL HEART ATTACK and when their attorney objected and reiterated that they were IN THE LITERAL HOSPITAL, the judge said "this is no less important. They could have gotten themselves discharged."

Sometimes my doctor gets it right. They put "take as needed every night" on my sleep med instead of the ones who are all "it works better if you don't take it every night" - ma'am I need sleep every day, that's how humans work.

It is fucking bullshit that a guy who can and wants to work isn't allowed to because then he wouldn't be poor enough to qualify for lifesaving critical care. But it'll be a cold day in hell before we merely accept the state of things like this as reasonable. And that's why we win in the end.

Disabled people deserve more than the bare minimum to survive (not that many even get that)... They deserve to have enough to try and find their best quality of life, to have support, and whatever they need to manage their health. They deserve to be and feel safe.
