So after buying Subnautica 2 I only recently learned of the drama surrounding Unknown Worlds (the devs) and Krafton (the publisher.) So according to my company I've got 8 days before my federal medical card expires. Despite the fact that I got a 1 year renewal at the beginning of this month. And gave them a copy of that report (that they should have received from the provider) last week.

The sucky part about being the only one who can do certain things around the house is when they need to be done you just have to do them even if you're exhausted and overheated and sore. But the lawn is mowed now (or at least mowed enough to keep the city off my ass) and I'll finish it tomorrow.

Had to take a quick shower today despite tomorrow being my scheduled shower day because I mowed the grass while it was still 90 degrees outside at the end of my work day and I was feeling gross!

Okay, I've completed (phase one of) the main storyline of Subnautica 2. A very interesting story so far! One with some interesting and unexpected plot twists! And that's all I'm going to say on /that/ :D Now comes the time for random exploration, base building, and completing my database!

May not have been the first to use the shower (I live with two others who wake up before I do on weekends) but I was probably the first to mark it as mine :P But really it's a freaking amazing shower, and I'm super glad I got it. I'm definitely going to be using it often! At least 3 times a week!

Oops overspent the grocery budget by about $25. Not a lot, but if I didn't have a decent buffer built up in my house checking account it could mean a bill doesn't get covered. Either way I'll have to be careful next week (or check to see if I can afford to bump the weekly grocery budget up by $25)

Okay comparison time! This is the old tub. Don't mind that it's grungy as hell, I kind of stopped giving a shit after the crack in the bottom grew as big as it did. The middle part of the tub side was cut out at one point and I tried to restore it so I could have a soaking tub. It didn't work.

Shower people showed up early. Yay, but also ugh I was still asleep!

Can't forget to actually shut down the PC! It shares a circuit with the bathroom which will have power killed to install a new exhaust fan for the shower while I'm at work. UPS will only last for so long and I don't know how long they will need.

Past few days my work meals have consisted of coffee and donuts, mostly due to a need to eat soft foods so my diverticulitis doesn't get extremely pissed off at me. So I'm playing Farm to Table and exploiting some mechanics to upgrade my menu as much as possible as fast as possible, and dear god I have to grow SO MANY PUMPKINS for THE most delicious pumpkin pie my customers will have ever tasted. Like literally 136 pumpkins on 68 plots to do it in one shot.

Okay, bathroom is cleaned out of most everything I don't want covered in construction dust, my good dragon shower curtain has been removed (and will likely be put back up for decoration later,) and most everything in the path to the door has been moved out of the way so contractors can get in & out.

Concerned that I keep getting notices to update my federal medical card with the DMV through the work computer because work records show it expires in under 2 weeks. Did the medical office not share that info with my employer when I renewed it at the start of May?

Had to go upstairs for my twice a year "Make sure the roof isn't leaking" inspection and to check on the plumbing in advance of the bathroom downstairs becoming unavailable Friday. Good thing I did too because ALL of the traps were basically dry.

Also what the fuck is up with deck.blue? I'm having one hell of a time posting anything because something keeps eating my inputs, and it's only with their interface. Sometimes I lose my spacebar, sometimes I lose ALL keyboard inputs, and it's ONLY with that. Bluesky directly has no problems.

Car that was bought a few months ago is likely destined for the scrapyard; timing chain is stretched and it will cost $2k to fix. $4k to fix that and a few other somewhat serious issues. I could buy two of those cars for that price.

Definitely going to be taking a photo of my nasty-ass cracked and poorly patched bathtub before Friday and a photo of the new shower after the install, and posting them side by side.

There's an AirBnB a few houses down from me that charges a minimum of $500 for 2 days. Not sure how to feel about that.
