Recently my spouse has been working on a game project of his own. It makes me really happy to see him express himself in a way we can bond over, but there are some unexpected problems regarding this development (heh)

I'm delegating some of my pixel art tasks to other team members, so I created this base sheet they can draw the characters on top of

I decided I could use more concrete base knowledge on game architechture, so naturally I went and searched what books I could read regarding the topic. I bought this one since it was recommended by literally every top result.

I'm kinda balancing on the edge here. This will definitely be the last game where I do both most of the art and all of the programming. Next game I will find a coding partner so I can mostly focus on art

I've also gotten reviews back to back where the first one is "This is the most profound thing ever" and the second "This is the biggest piece of horseshit ever" and I'm like: My friends I know for a fact that my game is neither of those things, but I'm happy it made you feel something... I guess?

🧵 Recently there was an article about Silksong and it's development and why it took so long. The key takeaway from the article was that "They were just having so much fun with it" and since they had the opportunity, they wanted to take their time to make the game as good as they could.

At this month's cake club I got to eat this gorgeous strawberry shortcake from my local Cloud Patisserie 🥰 I went to fetch the cake on friday an hour away from home. The chef was horrified that I used public transport and didn't bring a cooler bag with me, so she very kindly loaned me one ❤️
