The garden is still just waking up, but I need to move fast to get everything ready. In the part of trying anything to get a crop of potatoes, I'm trying growing some in buckets. I will plant in other things too.

Today I got some garden work done, mixed some soil for the potatoes and stuff. The electricity decided it wanted to exert energy somewhere other than the cement mixer motor, so I had to do some cord repairs. I got about 3 wheelbarrow loads of soil ready.

well, the pin is 2.5mm too long, this is a clearance distance that keeps coming back to haunt me, so ok, whatever, easy part to reprint.

For those of you curious about the technical side of the tilt and pan mirror, here is a rough diagram. The webpage composes a GET with the requested co-ordinates, and passes them to the serial bus where the attiny13's manage the servo loops.

ok! I got last weeks robot finished! This is the "death ray" Tilt and pan mirror. got a closeup of the new sensor that was the weeks project. This is for getting sunlight into my bedroom.

@smartercircuits.bsky.social I will design the forarm-extension rods for 1/4" and make them forgiving enough to do 6mm. The main pin bolt is 1/4"x2" hex head with 1.25" fender washers (2) and of course that link nut.

Drat. I cant CAD parts when my eyes keep closing. I only got one part designed today. [ and helped mother transport things and helped a buddy fix his motorbike ] It looks like the bed temperature might need to be a bit higher (heh, I dont have a calibrated thermometer) so...

ok, any hope for printing the parts for this weeks robot will come with some printer mods to combat warping. I just did a magnet-wire and "capton" tape header on the bottom of the bed and it looks like its helping, not sure if its enough, will find out.

midnight, brain be like "I HAVE THE DESIGN" ugh, making notes cause I keep paper close. so far I have this whole design (that is just part of it) in one cad file and.... I think I better split it up.....

initial glance is looks ok, but there actually might be too much warpage, I may have to build a heated bed for this... time is running out...

yes! these are my CH32 "arduino" boards , designed to replace my needs for the pro mini. As the ch32 doesn't really have the IO, their designed with an i2c expander on them, which isn't a good substitute, but its something...

I would like to point out something very serious. Years ago I developed a technique for shifting serial data into a 74hc595 chain without use of a microcontroller. I have not been able to help but notice that people have been using raspberry pi's instead of my simple circuit. 1/n

Well this weeks robot has a REALLY steep design curve. I have to start by finishing lots of the part designs before its ok to really print anything. UGH. I'm having a gear ratio issue.... need another 2:1 on it.

Potentiometers come in linear and logarithmic angle/resistance profiles. They are carefully identified on the pot, with the letter A or B by the resistance value. Some manufacturers using 'A' for linear, and some using 'B'.
