Today marks 6 months stuck on a medical ward. We had a discharge plan for a little while and I thought I was going home. Now thats fallen through there is still no end in sight. This is one of the toughest things I've had to do - and thats saying something. Our NHS is a mess.

I miss home. I miss work. I miss my freedom. I miss my physical health and strength. I miss my cat. I miss going outside. I miss having a reason to exist. Hospital life is crap. I have no idea what is going to happen to me next but I know I can't go home for several months. 🥺

My section was lifted today 🙂 still in hospital and have a lot of work to do, I won't be returning home for months which is hard. But one milestone achieved 👍

2 months ago myself and my carer were invited to record a podcast with @DocWesters on atypical severe self harm. Really pleased with how it went - trigger warning to listeners, its not easy content. Thank you Nicholas for having us! the-psychology-of-self-injury.simplecast.com/episodes/liv...

I know #PhysicianAssociates sometimes get a lot of flack. But the PA on this ward has been pivotal to how this admission works for me - the doctors come and go but she is embedded in the ward, knows the patients and how to communicate with them. Invaluable

So I've genuinely been living under a rock for quite a while and peeked my head out yesterday to find out Twitter is dead and this is the new place to be... it feels like waking up in another universe...or the time at uni when they shut our only nightclub down and we had to go to a bar instead....
