Our storage room had become a mess of shoving random things in it for months. Thanks to a monumental effort from @geekate.bsky.social that's all taken care of. I can now actually get to my storage shelf without tripping over things!

I really like the LRG reprints for games that demand a high price. There was a vault drop on this one, and I had to jump on it. Nice box, great game!

Last night I actually did some retro things. I put the Mac back where it goes, and played some Sim City 2000. All while the 486 was on tracker duty in the background. I should probably sit down and use the stuff more often!

A little bit of Civ on the Mac for #marchintosh. I'm always fascinated by different ports of games. In this case the resolution boost makes a big difference compared to the other versions!

Finally got stuck back into playing Avowed, and it hooked me this time. I absolutely love the art style with all the fantastic color pops, and sweeping landscapes. It's painfully beautiful at times. Just the type of game I needed right now. The combat is super fun too.

Here we go again! Trying out Roguecraft DX. The original version was great, so had to grab this as well. I love new games for old systems!

Now that's a pickup! I always keep an eye out for some of the big hitters that cost more than I care to pay. This popped up for a great price so I jumped on it. Excited to have this one!

I'm far from an Amiga expert but when people ask me where to start with the platform, I always recommend Amigavision. It's a great way to dive right into gaming. Running it on real hardware is icing on the cake. Great package!

Well this is pretty cool. An FPS for the Saturn, called Vigilant Paradise! I haven't played it much yet, but it's a cool type of game that's not well represented on the Saturn. You can buy it here: playnautic.itch.io/vigilant-par..., and plays great using a Saroo. Neat!

I already use a Bazzite-powered Steam machine as my main gaming rig, but I wanted one for the living room too. The not-steam-machine-but-kinda-steam-machine! Ryzen 5500 and RX 7600 I believe is close to the upcoming Steam Machine, and it works great! Steam library access in the living room.

I just randomly came across this on the Steam sale, and it feels like a hidden gem! Mixing Metal Slug with metroidvania it's a perfect match. A literal blast to fight your way through the environment with gorgeous pixel graphics. Perfect for the Steam deck.

Work is getting rid of old, unused monitors. Being who I am, I checked model numbers for 15khz compatible ones. And sure enough, score! This Viewsonic handles the Amiga natively. Far from perfect in forced wide mode, and with jailbars. But hey it's still cool, and handy!

I've had an RGB mod (Voultar's) for the N64 sitting around for ages. Today was finally the day and holy smokes! Coupled with a set of HD Retrovision cables the picture just pops! Well worth it to squeeze a bit mote quality out of the N64.

The A1200 is up for pre-order on Amazon. This is great news for US based people, as I was worried we wouldn't be able to get one with the current international shipping... challenges. For those unaware, it's a full size, with keyboard, emulated Amiga 1200, for under $200! Got my order in!

Quite the wait. The release of any Metroid game is a good day.

Sometimes I get the feeling I'm spread too thing when it comes to retro tech/gaming. I like all the consoles, all the retro computers, all the neat retro things. My brain usually wants to hyper fixate on a specific platform for a bit, then I hop to another thing, rinse repeat!

I never finished Mass Effect Andromeda when it came out. I just did, and I did enjoy my time with it. It definitely felt padded at times with too many fetch quests, but there is a good game and great stories under the surface. Sad we won't see the story continue, but it was a fun game!

I am so ready for this! I have so many machines needing IDE drive replacements. This panel makes it even more exciting.

I just finished recapping my Commodore 1084s D1 monitor. I'm pleased as punch that I didn't fry it, shock myself, and that the image has vastly improved! There are some more things to fix on it, but this is a major step toward retro goodness.

The desk is a disaster zone, I was eager to test, but I'm extremly excited to have picked up an Amiga 1200 at VCF. Recapped, fixed up and turn key (really, powered on right into a HD install). Looking forward to growing with this system, and it's been on my want list for a very long time!

With the surprise release of Superman on streaming, I finally got around to seeing it last night. I honestly loved it! Uplifting, hopeful, and just a fun movie all through. Leaning into the wider DC universe right of the bat feels like it's not trying to hide the comic origins.

We had an early morning storm today, and the winds seemed to bring an unusual visitor. This tiny brown bat, not bigger than a typical mouse, hung out in our backyard tree all day. When dark finally came it flew off. We definitely don't see bats here during the day, and especially this kind. Neat!

Sometimes, you have to buy a game based on the box art alone. Know nothing about the game, no regrets.

Well, I haven't played Super Mario Land since I was a kid, and a mini vacation seemed like a great time to play it. Short but sweet, I'm mostly glad I am still able to beat it!

A cleanup of the streaming area turned into a full tear out, clean and set up from scratch. Turns out there were a few cables involved.

I seem to get very random games lately. I did play Theme Park a lot and definitely have wanted a boxed copy. This version seems a bit odd though, not featuring the typical cover, nor EA classics format. Perhaps just a version I wasn't aware of. Still, I'm happy to have it!
