my novel started as an exercise to help with same voice syndrome. the idea was to write a first meeting, two paragraphs from each POV, distinguishing the voices as much as possible. i wrote max and nico as strongly disliking each other, then thought "lmao how funny would it be if they fell in love"

I love Tales of the Hundred Monsters Next Door bc it really is a well-done and beautifully illustrated horror. But big bonus points to the mangaka for deciding to give the story a gay protagonist who falls in love with an old man. Truly made for an old man truther like me.
