A confident performance of ‘Sultans of Swing’ by Dire Straits in Assembly this morning. Well done to Borrowed Time (Reggie, Charlie, André and Krish)!

A fantastic afternoon for our saxophonists with Jess Gillam as part of the Chipping Campden Music Festival. She performed on her soprano sax and then worked with advanced students including Nikhil (Year 10) before everyone joined in a six-part rendition of La Cumparsita. Such fun 🎷🎶!

It was so exciting to hear so many fantastic performances at tonight’s Spring Recital. Many highlights with music from Bach and Dvorak to Zimmer and Foo Fighters. Congratulations to all involved! 🎶

We have two fantastic Year 9 bands performing tonight. Hey Jude and Hotel California are sounding great! 🎸🎶

Jazzsquad! have started today’s rehearsals for this evening’s Spring Recital. They will be playing ‘Milestones’ and ‘Watermelon Man’ to open the concert 🎶

Our Year 7&8 ‘One World’ Singers performed two songs. Here’s an extract of ‘We Are One’ (just before the hand claps start!). The other song was a traditional Finnish song which is sung to herd reindeer! Well done boys!

Indian Music Group have worked hard with these fabulous Sixth Form dancers (Nishtha and Thenmozhi) to create their joint performance.

A massed orchestral rehearsal this evening when we welcomed prospective Year 12 students from other school. What a great sound! We enjoyed playing the theme to Interstellar, Prokofiev’s ‘Dance of the Knights’ from Romeo and Juliet and Satchmo! Thanks to everyone who took part 🎶

Congratulations to Choral Captain Matty P. (Year 13) who has been offered a place in the Choir of Trinity College, Cambridge for next academic year. He will join OE Callum Maughan (2017-24) in their tenor section!

Diversity Week has started with a wonderfully uplifting day of singing workshops with Ex Cathedra. Students in all year groups have sung songs from different cultures and heard stories about music in different languages. Thanks to Dan, Rebecca and Colin for such a memorable day.

Congratulations to OE Alex Jeffery (2018-25) who has been awarded a prize by ABRSM for gaining the highest mark in the West Midlands in Grade 8 Piano in the summer 2025 series! Here he is rehearsing a piano duet with Lydia for last summer’s End of Year Concert 🎶🎹
