Eh. #TheCircusInfinite is written in a 3rd person present style and it felt like I was being told the whole story instead of shown. The MC was very frustrating. Cool abilities but overpowered. Everything the author was trying to say in the subtext was too heavy handed and felt forced. #booksky

I was under the impression that this was a #thriller? It’s not. It’s #literaryfiction. That’s on me tho. Or the person who recommended this to me on tiktok. It was good! It’s a time capsule of pre-covid politics on race, gender, and class. Very well written. I liked it well enough. #booksky

This was really confusing at first but was pretty good by the end. I didn’t realize #Circe was a #cat until much later in the book. Very brutal and violent and horrific. On par for her writing. This style of #dystopian #horror is hard to pull off well but I think this was successful. #booksky

Even with the couple of dog deaths, this is probably my favorite read of 2025. It was beautifully constructed. The nested framing similar to Frankenstein was so interesting and made the story feel that much more vibrant. And that ending?Good god. I could definitely reread this many times. #booksky
