UI could learn from game design. when you run off a cliff in mario you can still jump within a short timeframe. but with modern UI if you click a button and it happened to disappear or move 10ms before you click then too bad you've likely just triggered some other button

Survival games use the two base layers of the pyramid, but what if you ignored those and just used the top layers. It's the apocalypse, it's assumed you drink toilet water, but as a player you really need to go out and sketch that mountain and also make friends with a volleyball

I think we should use Fibonacci years to track our age. E.g. F7 is the era from age 21-34. Because time feels faster as you age the gap between each F feels the same. Assign bucket list items to each F, etc. 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 21, 34, 55, 89

Been playing oblivion again

A cascade of errors last night: website was offline (SSL cert expiry), couldn't ssh in (I fail2banned myself), then couldn't update SSL cert bc I was redirecting Http traffic to Https and couldn't serve the certbot ownership token. Ah well. It's all running now, but not a fun evening. 😂

I've been taking a lot more notes lately and it's been good for me. It's natural now to make an Obsidian daily note whenever I have a thought or am in a meeting, then organise a bit later. I also have simple how-to docs in there, like "how to update my website" etc, that I do rarely so I forget.
