Thank you. This is another point that seldom gets made. SNAP is under the Dept. of Ag because it's as much about subsidizing Ag as it is about helping poor people eat.

Read the Farm Bill. SNAP and School lunch programs are subsidizing agricultural first. Then Big Corps as you said, and then very poor people, especially working people, and seniors and oth with disabilities. Look at SNAP, MediCaid and TANF requirements in your State. Shocking

We need to stop allowing these megacorps classifying their workers as “contractors” too despite controlling every aspect of their work.

THIS⬆️⬆️⬆️ If a corporation has a threshold of 1000 of their workforce on food stamps, then that corporation needs to be forced to pay a living wage. I’m looking at you, Walmart.

Whenever people complain about the number of folks relying on food stamps, it is worth reminding them that SNAP is, by too large of a degree, a subsidy for corporations that refuse to pay a living wage and their political allies who reject public policy prescriptions to reduce income inequality.
