#BlindDrams dram 5 palate is sweet peat with icing sugar over burning leaves and logs. I am enjoying it but prob gonna be a 4 for me.

#BlindDrams dram 5 is less smokey than expected at first, more like maple syrup pancakes and bacon, before the smoke starts swirling out of the glass giving it a punch of flavour

#BlindDrams dram 4- I like that slightly medicinal peat, and it is the type of bottle I'd be tempted to pick up. Overall I think a nice 4 for this

#BlindDrams number four- on the nose this is a medicine cabinet in a glass On the palate it's lovely and smokey with lemon and sugar pancakes, not as medicinal as the nose, with a touch of vegetal notes in there as well- really enjoying this

#BlindDrams dram 3 is a 3 for me- liked it a bit more than dram 2

#blinddrams dot 3 palate: salty smokey toffee, with a tingle on the tongue, and a whack of an almost rye spice lurking in there. Feels quite warm so guessing a decent whack on the ABV scale, water makes it sweeter and brings out some hints of those sugared lemon and orange slices for cakes

#blinddrams dot 3 is like salted butter popcorn on the nose. Coastal notes and hints of caramel digestives round out the nasal palate for me

#blinddrams dot 2- first one of the night for me and it's quite light at first but with some vegetal and mint notes not dissimilar to a Mezcal. Slightly smoky quality to it too- not sure whether I like or not but edging on a 2 at the moment

After a great night in Birmingham for the @spiritofbirmingham.bsky.social launch party, I was really pleased to receive my inaugural bottle today- 10/10 for presentation, it's a really classy package, containing great whisky, clearly made with love!

Having this sample of Redbreast 15cs- the nose is rich with ribeana, Victoria sponge, and musty jacket. On the palate it's lively with strawberry licorice, a thick buttery mouth feel, spearmint, hint of Christmas cake- looking forward to discovering more as it opens up #Redbreast #Whiskey #Irish

Thank you @bimberdistillery.bsky.social for this Harmony of 8 release. With a mix of Ex-Bourbon & PX casks at 50% AbV it's got lots of Jam tart on the nose. On the palate it's thick and sweet, honey over strawberries and yoghurt. A hint of spice towards the back end. #WeAreBimber

Another lovely dram from @drammorgroup.bsky.social 11 yo white port Staoisha Nose: smokey digestive biscuits, milkybar, tangerine Palate: thick. Lovely chocolate, mint, smoke is muted like the smell on your clothes the morning after the fire, a hint of lemon refresher bar Finish: long and warm 😋

Was lucky enough to get a few @drammorgroup.bsky.social samples recently. They included this Dailuaine refill bourbon 13yo Nose: rich vanilla, strawberry cheesecake, hint of almond Palate: sweet vanilla, lemon, a hint of coffee, cake Overall it's a lovely example of the distillery output at 55.1%

Lovely drop from @whitepeak.bsky.social. the peated cask complements the chocolate notes perfectly, hints of orange and a spicy peat as well. Glad I have a bottle of this in the queue #Whisky #Peat #EnglishWhisky

Dot 5 is a 4/5 for me- best of the bunch and an enjoyable drop that feels familiar #BlindDrams

#BlindDrams dot 5 is delicious on the palate- chalky lemons, bonfire smoke, and a touch of chocolate limes- hint of pop rocks on the finish

Dram 5 is Golden in colour On the nose this is peaty and milky- usually a winning combo and it's screaming at me that I know what it is #BlindDrams

Dram 4 is another 3 for me lots to commend it

#BlindDrams Dot 4 palate is thick with loads of cola cubes, a touch of peppermint, and a high AbV

Dram 4 is a lovely bronze colour. the nose is funky with fruit, furniture polish, cheese, and more fruit- enjoying this one already #BlindDrams

Dram 3- Scores a 3. would be happy with a bottle on my shelf #BlindDrams

Dram 3 has the raisins on the palate but that's coupled with thick sweet fruity notes, a touch of rhubarb, some Crunchy notes of milk chocolate and honeycomb too. On the finish it gets really spicy with a hint of atomic fireball sweets #BlindDrams

Dram 3 is a lovely shade of gold. the initial nose was pure chocolate but now getting raisins and a kind of dusty note- fruit n fibre vibes! #BlindDrams

#BlindDrams the second dram scores a healthy 3 from me

Dram 2 palate is delicious, getting some cherry notes, thick layer of icing sugar, touch of lime cordial, and a touch of white pepper as it gets more tropical on the finish #BlindDrams

Dram 2 of the #BlindDrams tasting is slightly darker in colour with thin oily legs. The nose is like white chocolate and strawberries on shortbread.

probably one I wouldn't buy but interesting to try and would go for another glass at the right price 2/5 #BlindDrams

On the palate the first dram is rather hot with notes of vanilla, lemon, pineapple, powdered sugar- rather warm #BlindDrams

Later tonight the Blind Tasting Consortium will hold it's 50th #BlindDrams Initially setup in June 2020 we are a group of 28 friends who meet online most months to blind taste 5 whiskies.

Trying one of the goodies picked up on my recent travels- loving this one with plenty of sweet peat

Had a very enjoyable flight and accompanying snack at the SMWS Vaults in Leith. Really great selection of drams available, engaging and knowledgeable whisky sommeliers, and elegant surroundings. Only thing it would have been nice to see more on the organisation's history whilst there.

Poacher on the Campbeltown Loch- this time last week

Last weekend I made a visit to the Port Of Leith gravity distillery. One of only two such distilleries in existence it was fascinating to see the differences from the older distilleries I've visited. Few pics below and a link to a longer post I did over in the Friends of group.

Great day, awesome people, and awesome drams at the first Indy spirits festival. Highly recommend the new series that is out now to watch via normal video on demand services. It's a great watch if you want to know more about the past, present, and future of independent bottlers- dram in hand ofc

Great line up tonight- exciting to try such a diverse portfolio from such a prestigious distillery, Glen Farclas ❤️ 20yo was the favorite for me

A little pre tasting dram- had this wolf burn for a while. It's a great palate warmer at 46%. Saw Mark at the Summerton Festival last year and they had a few newer bottles out but I don't see much promo from them these days

Friday night is a Dram Mor celebration night- hosting Kenny MacDonald for a 6 dram line up with their 5th birthday bottlings, and a few interesting additions. The 11 yo smells incredible, as does the Millstone- can't wait to tuck into the drams. drammorgroup.com

Extra time for me- #bottlekill of the @whiskybroker Caol Ila in Red Wine cask- great colour, great flavour & a great price. I know their recent post caught a bit of flack but you can't argue with the value that they bring to consumers
