Recently completed commission

Me and a friend in Tokyo. I’m in town to see his new movie.

Had a post NYCC dinner at a wonderful Japanese restaurant Sesamo last night with a group of artists and afterwards we were given plates on which to draw. There was, of course, only one subject for me.

Keith Giffen was one of the most brilliantly creative humans I’ve ever known.  A curmudgeon with a heart of gold.  A generous collaborator.  An old, dear friend.  And, as my wife observed, “He was like a character out of a Keith Giffen story.”  So true!  Safe travels, Keith.  You will be, missed.

Sad to hear of the passing of Keith Giffen, a true original in comics as writer & artist, whose uniqueness, humor, & beauty made the Justice League, Lobo, Rocket Raccoon, & many other classic characters come alive in ways we had never seen. Rest in Peace, Keith. My love to his family & friends. ❤️
