We're back at The Print Room this Saturday with more fun printmaking activities for kids. So far sessions have covered collagraph using cardboard and recycled materials, tetra pack printing and plant printing using flowers and natural materials.

Please note there will be no access to the lower print studio on Friday 16th & Saturday 17th May. The studio will be open as usual on Tuesday to Thursday if you need to print and will be back to normal service the week after. You can find out more about printmaking at Peacock here peacock.studio

Artist Hannah Imlach currently has a print on show at Aberdeen Art Gallery as part of their 'Works on Paper - Women Artists' exhibition. The print was made for Hannah's "Energy Objects" exhibition back in 2019. Handstone is based on Imlach's photograph of a saddle quern taken on North Uist.

We had a lot of fun creating our collagraph boards during our Community Printmkaing session last week at The Print Room. Participants were guided through the collagraph process by Jenny, utilising recycled cardboard, string and other materials to create weird and wonderful designs.

Last Friday saw Peacock return to Snug at The Anatomy Rooms for another printmaking workshop using everyone's favourite Danish modular building block system. We loaded our rollers with ink and used our portable press to make some fun and creative prints showcasing the versatility of printmaking.

New prints fresh off the press by Claire Roberts. Claire Roberts is an artist printmaker based in Aberdeen, Scotland. She studied at Gray’s School of Art and The Slade School of Fine Art. She has exhibited nationally and internationally and is a Royal Scottish Academy prize-winning artist.

Mike Giant is a world class graffiti artist, writer, tattooist, illustrator and artist. His chosen palette is almost exclusively black and white. He feels this works to his advantage in a modern commercial art market, as tattoos need a high contrast colour scheme to hold up over time.

There’s only a few more days to catch our current exhibitions including ‘Monochromia’ which can be viewed in our reception shop space located at our main print studio, 21 Castle Street.

It's the final week of Northern Enlightenment by Bob Bain. The show takes it's title from a print produced by Bain in 1987 depicting Peacock founder Arthur Watson along with printmaker Stuart Cordiner, complete with ink rollers and our prized Columbian printing press in the foreground.
